The Nepali Fair Successfully Held at Kempton Park Racecourse in the UK
London, 25th August 2024 – The Nepali Fair was successfully held at Kempton Park Racecourse in the UK. The 15th edition of the Nepali Mela was organized by Tamu Dhee UK with the support of the Nepali Embassy in London. Approximately 10,000 Nepalese from across the UK gathered to present tableaus, showcase their national culture, and display ethnic costumes. The organizers reported that around 42 organizations participated in the event.
Competitions were held in various categories, with winners receiving shields, medals, and cash prizes. The event took place under the chief hospitality of Roshan Khanal, Deputy Head of the Nepali Embassy in London. Local parliamentarians, mayors, and councillors from the UK were also invited as guests.
This Nepali Fair is considered the largest event for the Nepalese community in the UK. The fair was concluded under the chairmanship of Hari Gurung, President of Tamu Dhee UK. It was noted that participation increased this year, with the event estimated to have cost around 43,000 pounds.
