NRNA decides to aid Rs 50 million for disaster relief

Kathmandu, Aug 26: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has decided to immediately aid Rs 50 million for rescue, relief and necessary assistance for the families affected from the flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River.

The NRNA’s emergency meeting decided to form a ‘Relief and Rescue Committee for Rasuwa Flood Victims’ under the coordination of NRNA President Dr. Hemraj Sharma.

The meeting also formed a fundraising committee under the coordination of Treasurer Krishna Timalsina to collect financial aid.

For volunteer mobilization, a volunteer deployment committee was formed under the coordination of Vice President Manoj Gorkhali. The meeting further decided to form an NCC deployment committee under the coordination of General Secretary Dr. Chiranjibi Khadka, who will also act as the regional coordinator, and assigned Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Kumar Raut the responsibility to coordinate with the disaster management committee and related agencies.
