London: Limbu residing in various countries across Europe are set to organize their second Europe-wide conference this year.
The second Europe-wide Limbu (Yakthung) Conference is being held to facilitate mutual introductions, gatherings, and the exchange of information among the Limbu community in Europe. The gathering and interaction program will take place on July 27, 2026, in Leuven, Belgium.
The event will feature “Academic Debate Series 2” focusing on Limbu and Limbuwan history and culture, with presentations and discussions by Professor Marungang Khawahang, Biswasdip Tigela, Prem Ningleku, and Kishor Subba, among others. On the second day, the Sisekpa Tangnam festival will be celebrated with various cultural programs, organized by Kirat Yakthung Chumlung, Belgium. The third day of the event will feature a tour of various prominent landmarks and sites in Belgium.
On the first day, a welcome tea reception will be hosted by Badan Yonghang, President of Kirat Yakthung Chumlung (KYC) Belgium. The event is expected to see the participation of KYC Germany President Sanchaman Jabegu, KYC Portugal President Rukman Kerung, KYC Malta President Premraj Phombo, and KYC Cyprus President Chhumanta Tumbapo, among others.
The first conference gathering was successfully held last year in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal.
