Songs Written and Composed by Singers Themselves Are More Powerful: Kanchan Thalang
London, 13 February 2026 — Singer and artist Kanchan Thalang has said that songs written and composed by singers themselves tend to be more powerful and impactful.
Speaking to todayPress.com, Thalang shared his views during an interview. He is currently in London as part of his ongoing musical journey. Thalang’s formal entry into the music industry began in 2012 after he won the title of Limbuwan Idol.
Nearly half a dozen songs written, composed, and sung by Thalang himself have become timeless among listeners. Songs such as “Chiso-Chiso Chha Mausam,” “Yo Mausam Beimani,” and “Sittal-Sittal Hawa Chalda” have gained wide popularity. To date, Thalang has lent his voice to more than 45 songs and has also appeared as a model in nearly a dozen music videos. In addition, he earned critical acclaim for his role as a lead actor in the film “Thaththalo.”
Preferring to be known as both a singer and an artist, Thalang was born in Taplejung district of eastern Nepal. He also informed that he has recently begun preparations for marriage.
