Mudslides, Landslides Leave 16 Dead in East China’s Jiangxi

Beijing, September 10 (QNA) :
A total of 16 people have been confirmed dead after rain-triggered mudslides and landslides struck Suichuan County in east China’s Jiangxi Province.
Days of torrential rain caused a series of geological disasters in the county. As of Wednesday afternoon, over 18,000 residents had been evacuated, Xinhua news agency reported.
آ An avalanche previously triggered a torrent of ice, rocks, and mud through the Trishuli River in the border region between Nepal and China on Aug. 26, sweeping away and destroying numerous towns and villages while causing widespread damage to roads and infrastructure.
