Interaction Programme with Professor Khawahang

On 23 July 2026, the Yakthung Heritage Culture (Group) UK organised an interactive discussion with Professor Maruhang Khawahang.
The event, held in Ashford, Kent, focused on an in-depth academic discussion on Mundhum, the traditional oral knowledge system and spiritual philosophy of the Limbu (Yakthung) people. Professor Khawahang has been conducting extensive research on Mundhum and has already published several books on the subject. He is a faculty member at the University of Michigan, where he teaches and continues his academic research. The interaction was organised during his visit to the United Kingdom.
The Yakthung Heritage Culture Group UK has been actively promoting academic research and scholarly discussion on Yakthung history, heritage, language, and culture. The programme was moderated by Ganesh Ijam.

On the same occasion, Ruksana Limbu, the runner-up of The Voice Kids of Nepal, and Rekha Lawati were also honoured in recognition of their achievements.
