Two Literary Figures Honoured by the Literature Federation UK–South Branch

UK – On 30 November 2025, the South Branch of the Global Federation of Nepali Literature (gfnl) UK organised a literary event in Ashford, Kent, where writer Sunil Sangam and singer–composer Thir Thapa were honoured with certificates of appreciation.

Writer Sangam has recently received the Devkota Literary Award, and singer Thapa was recently elected as the President of the Nepali Artists Presenter Society UK.

The honour was handed over by Biswasdip Tigela, Vice President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association International Coordination Council (NRNA ICC) and former Central President of the World Nepali Literature Federation. Chief Guest Tigela remarked that the accomplishments of both creators felt like the achievements of his own family.

During the literary recitation and honouring ceremony, which also included a dinner reception, participants such as Biswasdip Tigela, Sarba Dhan Thulung, Dipa Limbu, Autari Saimla, Ganesh Pun, Thir Thapa, Sunil Sangam, Naresh Bikram Nembang, Lahang Chemjong, Gyanu Limbu Charpe, Dev Limbu, among others, recited their respective creations.

The event, presided over by Sarba Dhan Thulung, President of WiNesAM South Branch, was conducted by the branch secretary Lahang Chemjong.
