22nd Gorkha Cup on 26 May: 50 Teams Competing

London – The 22nd edition of the Gorkha Cup, the largest football tournament in the Nepali community in the UK, will be held in Aldershot on Sunday, 26 May 2024.
Organizer Tamu Dhee UK held a press conference at its office in Michet last Saturday, announcing that preparations for the Gorkha Cup have been completed.
Gorkha Cup Coordinator and Sports Secretary, Captain Deepak Raj Ghale, stated that 32 teams will compete in the main category of the 22nd Gorkha Cup. In the Veterans’ category, the competition will be expanded to 16 teams, and there will be 2 teams in the women’s category.
The first-place team in the main category will receive a cash prize of £3,000. The games will be played on 12 football pitches and will be completed in one day. The duration of each game, played in a league system, will be 15 minutes.
This event attracts more than 10,000 spectators and participants. There will be 114 different stalls, and it is estimated that £55,000 will be spent on this project.
