HoR passes condolence motion on Nembang’s demise

Kathmandu, Sept 14: The House of Representatives (HoR) has passed a condolence motion on the demise of Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairperson, former Speaker and HoR member, Subas Chandra Nembang.

Today’s meeting of the lower house unanimously endorsed the motion presented by Speaker Devraj Ghimire.

Expressing grief over the passing away of Nembang, the meeting extended tribute to him and condolences to the bereaved family members.

The meeting observed a minute silence wishing for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Nembang who was born on 28 Falgun 2009 BS died on last Tuesday at the age of 71. Nembang was the member of the National Assembly in 2048 and 2052, HoR member in 2056, Speaker of the reinstated parliament in 2063 and Chairperson of Constituent Assembly in 2065 and 2070.

In addition, he had served the country as the President of the Public Accounts Committee and the Minster for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

He had played crucial role in the drafting and promulgating of the Nepal Constitution through the Constituent Assembly.

Next meeting of the HoR will take place at 1.00 pm on September 15.
