An interaction related to drug reduction was completed in Pakhribas

Dhankuta : Interaction related to drug addiction reduction has been completed in Pakhribas municipality of Dhankuta.

The program was completed with the coordination of municipality and the area police office Pakhribas.

As the number of drug addicts is increasing within municipality and especially in Ward No. 4 of the main market, the people present expressed their views on how to reduce it.

In the discussion, Nepal Police and City Police have decided to patrol suspicious areas as needed, to ban the sale and distribution of tobacco products within 100 meters of all schools, government offices and health institutions in municipality, to ban the distribution of medicines to such suspicious persons in pharmacy shops, etc.

Likewise, a 13-member working committee has also been formed under the coordination of municipality mayor Gyan Bahadur Gurung. The member secretary of the committee is Prem Bahadur Raut, Senior Deputy Inspector of Police in charge of Pakhribas area , Basantaraj Niraula, Head of municipality Health Branch, and Santosh Manandhar, Dr. Ankit Sharma, Mohan Rai, Prakash Shah, Nirmal Rimal, Shyam Prakash Rai, Ganesh Gurung, Dhanmaya Gurung, city police in-charge Ram Bahadur Tamang and representatives of invited political parties are present.

Today, all the shops within 100 meters around Jalpadevi seconday school and Campus and Technical Education and Vocational Training Council located at Pakhribas 4 have been monitored and also requested the traders not to distribute any kind of tobacco products and intoxicants.
