Identity movement will proceed in a more powerful manner: Prof. Dr. Mahendra Lawati

Dhankuta : Prof. Dr. Mahendra Lawati, a central member of the Sanghiya Samajwadi Party, has said that the identity movement will proceed in a more vigorous manner. He said this while addressing the interaction program held in Dhankuta today.

In the interaction program on federalism, identity and prosperity, he mentioned that there have been no political movements during the rainy season, but the movement of identity is still going on, and he said that the movement will be stronger after the winter.

CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli, outgoing Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Karki and Maoists named the province thinking that there is no one to speak about identity, he said, and they have slipped this issue badly.

He said that although some political parties and leaders are opposing federalism, federalism is necessary for the development and prosperity of the country. He also said that competition between provinces is necessary for the development of the country in the federal system.

He gave the example of Switzerland and said that there should be small provinces in Nepal for development. He requested everyone to join the identity movement saying that if there are provinces, everyone’s rights will be ensured.

The program was attended by the officials of the Kirat Pradesh Ghoshan Sangharsh Committee and the heads and representatives of various identitarian parties and associations.
